Celebrating This Year’s Literacy Fund Grant Recipients

This year, COVID-19 disrupted every aspect of educators, students, and caregivers’ lives. We recognized these challenges, and in response, worked closely with this year’s recipients to adapt to this new reality. We are proud of the resiliency and commitment to literacy showcased by these schools. Whether books were dropped off to children’s homes, or read to students virtually, each teacher ensured their class had access to new and diverse books.

Books Have Power

A book can change a child’s life – it can lead to a lifelong love of reading and educational success.

Many elementary schools in economically disadvantaged communities in Canada have limited library budgets. This leaves vulnerable students with inadequate school libraries filled with outdated, tattered and unappealing books.

The Indigo Love of Reading Foundation gives Canadian high-needs elementary schools funds to purchase the books and educational resources they need.

We are investing in a Canada where every child has access to books. And we need your help.
