Dear Canada: Why Youth Literacy Matters

The Indigo Love of Reading Foundation is collecting letters from students, parents, and educators across the country to show decision makers how much Canadians care about youth literacy. To write a great letter:

  • Address your letter to your local MPP / MLA / MNA; share your name, where you’re writing from, your local school, and (if you’re a student) your grade
  • Share why reading matters to you, and why all Canadian students need great books
  • Suggest one thing that our government leaders can do to help
  • Once you’re done, mail your letter to your local government leader!

OPTIONAL
Want your letter to be featured? You can type your letter into this form, OR you can upload a scanned copy of your letter at the bottom of this page. We’ll be spotlighting select submissions on social media and in Indigo, Chapters, and Coles stores to showcase the power of Canada’s literacy movement. This is optional!
